Kathryn Giampietro
Co-Owner & Auctioneer
Kathryn has acquired decades of experience in the world of antiques and art while balancing a career as a professional musician and music educator. Having had a father who was a full-time artist and lover of music and a mother who enjoyed antiquing in the Shenandoah Valley, she found that her background resonated with a lifestyle immersed in art, antiques, and music. Her passion led to Fred's first exposure to antiques and art and the start of his career. Since the inception of their business, she has been integral in shaping the business, assisting in hundreds of antiques shows and auctions as well as being an advisor. Kathryn has a degree in Music Performance as an oboist and has performed throughout New England with orchestras, opera companies and chamber music ensembles. She has been teaching oboe for more than fifty years and still has an active studio in New Haven where she teaches oboe and chamber music. She has placed many of her students in major conservatories and teaching positions. Many are now performing in fine orchestras. She likes to think that her strong sense of rhythm laid the foundation for her feeling comfortable in the role of auctioneer. Among her many passions are gardening, training bonsai, drawing, traveling and cooking. She is grateful to have her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren nearby in CT.
